[ IT'S FINE I'LL CATCH YOU UP also i accidentally put fucking wk 3 on this IT'S WEEK 2 SNOW!!!
anyways they were working on the theory that we're replicating the seven deadly sins. sloth for jing yuan, greed or envy for hawke? neverah is probably wrath. ]
... nearly so, this time. Yves almost would have become a victim of our own making.
... I have not wanted to ask Miss Firefly if she was able to take of the tree, yet, for having killed Brimstone in self defense. But it may be time to face that particular quandary so that we might have more knowledge about it.
If it was self-defense, it may not count. It'd be good to know what the rules are so we can prepare accordingly, should this happen again.
[ he says "should" but, it's a pattern now. ]
I'm also interested if the influence has to do with latent sins that's most relevant to the culprit, or if it's random. I don't want to assume they won't repeat, or will go in a certain order.
If it's something that's already in their personality, it might be helpful at figuring out if they're being influenced at all. Especially as we get to know one another better.
I spoke to Master Mizu about perhaps fashioning traps of some kind, as preparation for future instances of this. [ definitely a "when" for him, too. ] If we are unable to learn the rules, we can at least try to stop or slow down those that would become afflicted or tempted. Mark them, somehow, so that we might catch them in the act.
[ quiet, mulling, thinking of their past compulsion killers with a frown. ]
Jing Yuan's information on the phone states that he enjoys sleeping. He tried to set traps to do the work for him, rather than actually doing the deed himself, until his hand was forced.
Hawke... perhaps he was pride, rather than envy or greed. He took pride in his skills as a fighter, and desired betterment of himself.
From what little I knew of him, my guess would be pride as well.
Even if we can predict this can happen again, we probably won't be able to tell where. And we're pretty spread out by the time we get locked in somewhere. Setting traps for any potential culprit would be difficult...
Thus far, at least, it seems to be that they only trek through the newer areas that we've gotten every week.
A suggestion was made to gather in one place, come Thursday, as opposed to spreading out, but I know that there will be many who are reluctant due to the crowded element of the idea.
That's not without its drawbacks. That presents more danger to those sleeping, and if the culprit is aware of the traps, it's possible they'd try to circumvent them. Or worse, someone sets one off while trying to flee and gets caught. Easy target for any potential killer. Either that, or they could set traps off on purpose to lead us in the wrong direction, I suppose.
I still haven't any idea of how our group in the Whoville market came to have sore stomachs, waking up on Friday. [ it was a large group where a lot of commotion happened, and it wasn't like they were lined up. ] But the large groups so far haven't suffered as a whole beyond that...
Still, all good points that we must take into consideration. It wouldn't do well to spread word of what the traps are or where they would be placed, but it wouldn't bode well for the afflicted's chosen victim to get caught in something meant to slow their attacker down.

There's that.
I was also thinking about the apples. Uh, if someone were to be motivated of their own accord, and get away with it.
