[ let's chill at the lighthouse and stare at the ocean while smoking.

well. zhongli doesn't have to smoke but daigo sure is. ]

[ he will not smoke, but he won't tell daigo to stop with his smoking.

instead, he's making his way over - with heavier footfalls than normal so that he doesn't jumpscare the man - to join him. ]

Quite the view, here, isn't it?

[ daigo glances over when he hears the approaching footsteps, but looks back out towards the sea as to not exhale in the direction of a stranger and be rude. ]

It's better than what I'm used to.

Drearier weather, or greater cities than a mere entertainment pier?

[ with genuine interest, as he moves to go upwind so that daigo doesn't have to worry quite so much about his smoke. ]

Both. Although lately it's been less city and more dreary weather.

Liyue has its fair share of storms and dreary weather, especially in Liyue Harbor where the ocean rains make their way inland, but it does have its bright days like this.

I wonder if we'll see any weather changes while we're here.

The angels we spoke to seemed to at least be aiming for a pleasant enough experience for us? They collaborated on our space, although it certainly is being used to contain us, for better or worse.

They don't seem to wield much authority or know what to do with their roles. Wonder how much help they're actually going to be.

I had thought much the same, listening to the conversations around us. If nothing else, they're new to the position of responsibility overseeing us, and will have to grow into it over time - but I hope it won't take the entire eight weeks.

I understand being new to the position, but the lack of experience has me worried. Are they going to take responsibility for their mistakes? What help are they going to offer with no experience?

[ it's affection week. this allows him to reach out and give daigo a consoling pat on the back of his shoulder. ]

After speaking with each of them, along with our fourth angel in the bar, they seem keen on doing what they can to help, or at the very least to fulfill their roles. That doesn't negate the concern, but I think they will, at least, take responsibility for any mistakes made.

I'm not sure where to put my faith. It's supposed to be that the one at the top is the one that gives the orders and delegate down the line of command. If we can put faith in the angels but not the entity above them, that's going to be a problem.

It depends on the entity above. It's the lack of preparation or organization, something that you would expect someone leading a group to be responsible for ensuring, that gives me pause. Some inexperience is understandable, but...

[ hey daigogo, we're out by the gazebo for some fresh air instead of salty, tarnish air. zhongli is mostly a reserved, retrospective sort of person, so he won't mind if they spend their time mostly in silence when they cross paths.

... I must apologize again that you were put into a position of discomfort, Mister Dojima. While your reasons for it aren't known to me, I can hardly blame you, considering my own reluctance to the check.

Perhaps not, but it would be remiss of me to not at least offer it. [ a small, if rueful, smile. ] How are you fairing, after the long day?

If I'm being honest, probably better than most.

Emotions certainly ran high for many, didn't they. But something is, sometimes, better than nothing.

I can't imagine they'd rather pick someone innocent to expel.

Emotions ran high, yes. But given that the guilty party was apprehended, he has to take responsibility for what he's done. Those are just the facts of the matter.

It is, and to vote for an innocent party... [ quiet, but only for a beat. ] Were she here, Charlie wouldn't have stood for it - this much I know for sure, given how much she wanted to help people. For someone else to be made a victim in her name would have been unacceptable.

Something is odd, about Jing Yuan himself. But the deed was done by his hands, and actions will always have consequences.

If I heard correctly, that means expulsion. Whatever that means.

No chance at redemption, is the least that I might take from it. Though I've no idea where a soul might go after being expelled from Heaven. We only have the ley lines, in Teyvat, so I am unfamiliar.
