[Her little box of things was placed on one of the beds while she was checking things out. When she hears the knock, she turns towards the person in the doorway.]

Yes, that's me. Are you Mister Zhongli?

[The other person who was assigned this room? He's so tall.]

That's right. It's a pleasure to meet you, oddness of all of this aside.

[ this is a deeply unusual situation for him, but at least there's two beds. he would hardly abide by a young lady having to share a bed with him, so at least that means he won't be looking for somewhere else to lay his head.

he'll step in properly, polearm in one hand but pointed down - in the crook of that arm is his box, egg neatly tucked in with a scarf and the squishmallow hidden beneath. ]

While it's out of our hands, I do apologize for how unconventional this arrangement is.

She takes a glance at the spear, it's not a weapon she's extremely familiar with, but he seems to know how to carry it just fine. ]

Thank you for the apology, but I don't mind sharing a room too much. At least we won't be lonely?

[ that does get him to chuckle lightly, as he sets his box carefully on the unoccupied bed and props the spear point-up against the wall next to it. ]

No, there is that. It will be nice to have company for the foreseeable future. And I promise that I am rather tidy, so you shouldn't find much issue there. If you would like to come to an agreement on our rooming, anything in particular that you would like to communicate, I would be glad to make sure a sort of contract would be upheld.

I don't have a lot of things to begin with. I'll try not to make a mess.

Let's see... I don't sleep very much. Do you need specific quiet hours so you can sleep well?

Not so literally - a turn of phrase, in this case, more than anything else.

I'm much the same. Early to rise, but late to bed, for the most part. If you find yourself looking for someone to share the peace and quiet of night with, I've found that there's decent tea in the kitchen now.

So far, it seems like we're a good roommate match.

I don't drink a lot of tea, but that sounds like a nice way to spend a night. I'd usually look up at the stars, but I'm not sure you can see them from here...?

Mm, I'm not certain. We'll have to see for ourselves tonight, I imagine, what the passage of time might be. Some tea and the night sky does sound like an excellent way to spend time getting to know one another though.

What else... I've never shared a space with someone in such a way. [ thinks... ] Should you like to decorate any, I won't mind.

[ They get to look at the night sky!!! And the stars! ] We can start tonight and see what the sky does.

As for decoration... It'd be nice to keep some plants.

[ unfamiliar stars (at least for peepaw, firefly travels in space that's normal) but STILL STARS!! ] I will see what sort of tea I can brew up, then, and we'll learn together.

Plants... hm, yes, it would liven things up. Perhaps save a few of the pots in the lobby from being unearthed again.

[ Stars!!! It's not like Firefly could pick out specific constellations anyway. She's simply not the navigator. ]

Alright. They're already full of dirt, they just need some seeds to go in them. I'll go get one now.

[ But before she goes, she picks out a silvery thing out of her box. ]

Then it would only be a matter of finding seeds. Cultivating from the plants already here could be doable...

[ pondering, as he very carefully take his golden scarf-wrapped egg out of the box to set on his pillow. but the silvery thing catches his eye. ]

[ And she refuses to go anywhere without it. ]

Then I will take care to ensure it goes undisturbed when it's in the room.

[ said with a nod, before he settles his squishmallow against the egg to keep it warm and upright. ]

Pick whichever pot you would like best, should I not join you before you decide.

[ Leaving it anywhere feels unthinkable. ]

Hardly a trouble, but I understand completely. [ he briefly pats the egg, like it's a child, before he reaches out for the vortex vanquisher to bring it with them. ]

There we are. If these eggs are ours to care for, I'm not inclined to leave it unnested.

Do you think they'll hatch?

[ She's too young(?) to be a mother.

They're still warm to the touch, but she really doesn't know anything about the care and keeping. Hers is wrapped with a scarf, but that's as far as she's gone.

She'll wait by the door for him to be ready. ]

Perhaps. They have a certain warmth to them that I believe could be a fertilized egg.

[ he glances at the eggs for a moment before turning to properly join her, gesturing for her to go ahead of him with his free hand. ladies first, young or not. ]

We shall certainly see. There's supplies enough that we can set up something more proper for them to ensure they stay warm.

[ She'll go ahead with the signal. They aren't too far away from the first floor. ]

I saw a few other buildings. Do you know what kinds of things we should get to make sure they can hatch?

[ It sure sounds like he's got more experience than her. ]

Hm... [ thinking about it as they go for the stairs, making sure the door latches behind them so it's not just wide open. ]

The clothing store will at least give us more materials to cushion the eggs with. I'm not sure that the others will offer us much more - we'll have to do some further investigating of our resources.

I heard something about keeping them warm?

[Down the stairs and to the mostly cleaned up mess.]

I wonder who's cleaning up...

[Anyway, at least most of these pots aren't broken.]

Yes. To ensure that the egg has a stronger chance of hatching, warmth is necessary - though best to be careful to not overheat it.

[ he does chuckle at the curiosity, and... ]

I cleaned up the dirt, though I am fairly certain that Charlie - the young lady with the red oni horns - has had quite the hand in the rest.

Exactly. Though I have a feeling that some will be attempting it intentionally.

[ can they not. hopefully finding out that it's their souls will stop them. ]

I don't enjoy messes all that much, especially unproductive ones. I'm sure it's that black-haired, blue-eyed young man with the temper doing much of the damage, though.
