[ beach beach beach! the perfect place for eupha. zhongli is investigating all of the new train stop with curiosity, and, despite being fully dressed in his usual clothes, doesn't seem to be minding the sand all that much. he's got his spear with him, point angled downwards and at rest just in case he might need it.
but he hopes not. ]
Oh, Miss Euphausia. How are you fairing today? Settling in for the time being?
Truly? Then they must be a sight to behold - I could hardly blame you for being homesick, no matter the length of time.
I would be happy to hear more about it, if you would like to share. Our worlds are quite different, after all, and I find myself curious about everyone's tales.
[ Eupha can be seen out at the beach! She's set up a little portable altar with a mat rolled out, her tiny Am*zon altar table, and some incense burning. Zhongli may see her sitting on the mat in quiet prayer, but it isn't long before she rises to her feet, and turns to see him. ]
Oh, Zhongli. I was just offering some prayers for those we lost.
[ zhongli knows prayer when he sees it, and waits patiently for her to finish when he notices what she's doing. he bows his head slightly towards the altar, offering his respects to the meaning and energies that it contains, before turning properly to her. ]
I'm sure that they've felt your prayers, wherever they are - it will send them off with lighter hearts.
I was thinking of making a few purchases from the screen store to set up an altar for remembrance, myself, with the practices that I am familiar with. Since we have no graves and no funerals that we may perform.
I wanted to memorialize Charlie's art, from her journal, but... it seems her things from the trial are gone. But we will have something to remember them by, regardless.
[ he just hopes that dan doesn't mess with it. ]
Are you doing alright besides, Miss Euphausia? I dare not ask if you're fairing well after this.
[ somehow, it feels as if it was better for them to have caught jing yuan in the final moments of trial last week. having nearly two hours to deliberate, to stew on the emotions, made it so much more... volatile.
zhongli walks, because it helps him think, these days, and it means that he can check on the others. there's little to do when it comes to hawke, but... there are still those, outside of the containment of the church, that might need a listening ear or some company during these times. ]
... Miss Euphausia. [ once he notices her, he'll make his way over, far more draconic that he has been all week but still maintaining an air of humanity - at least, he holds onto it. it's been a long, long day. ] A Mora for your thoughts? How are you fairing..?
[ eupha can be found outside the mansion, closer to the garden, where the scent of incense gently drifts from where she has set up a little altar. she sits on the ground, perfectly still save for her steady breathing. her two lower eyes are closed, but the third one stays open.
if she notices zhongli's presence, she does not seem to react right away. ]
[ seeing her, and what she's doing, zhongli will make his way over to join her - and very carefully lower himself to his knees. his feet tuck under him, practiced and easy, where he folds his hands into his lap.
it might not be his religion, or his customs, but the sentiment is there in them, clear as day. so. all he does his close is own eyes, taking a centering breath.
he'll stay like this for as long as she does, steady as stone. ]
[ it's not tranquil, per se, considering the events of the past 48 hours, but it is calm.
there's a beat after she speaks before he responds, taking another breath. ]
Stopping to reflect upon oneself and what happens around you is a grounding experience. It helps to take a burden from the mind, I believe. Especially when your memory is as good as mine.
Using it to pay respects, to both the departed and living, is a familiar concept as well. I hope that I've done it correctly for Eht Ria?
[ i'm going to drop us directly into memshare so that i can make sure we get everything taken care of. so whether they're in the funhouse or step through a doorway and find themselves there...
well, congrats! you've been chosen for a memory of stone for this one! if you want another one later on in the thread or the week i've GOT you, though i apologize that this is 20 minutes of genshin cutscenes. it's easier to watch than read because there's so much dialogue and lore i'm sorry. ]
[ i still haven't gotten the achievement for doing the fight without a shield tbh ]
Mm, I suppose it would be, in some ways. [ he watches the memory ripple across the mirrors, smiling a little sadly, wistfully. how do you grieve that which has not died, physically, and has ghosts of what you once knew? ] But I find that if the bond is impactful enough, the length of your life isn't the true weight of it.
[ zhongli doesn't look over his shoulder, hearing someone else coming down the beach sand, once he's found staring out at where the waves should have been rolling in. instead, he frowns, gaze slowly casting across the barren dunes, before going up, up, - taking in the sight of the lighthouse on the hill. ]
... this Entity's fit has truly brought us into a place of decay, hasn't it. At least the mansion and its neighborhood remain safe for now.
[ this is when he finally looks at eupha, frowning. her beach... ]
I feel almost as if we should offer a prayer for this place in the meantime, though.
[ IT'S SO SAD. I'M GONNA FIGHT THIS THING. me, snow, for eupha. ]
This sort of drought should take centuries to truly accomplish. [ that water was endless. ] But if it truly is another... pocket, or dimension, what the angels had called it upon our return, then once the Entity is a removed factor it should at least be restored.

Yes, thank you! It raises my spirits to see we have such a lovely beach here.

Although, perhaps it is odd to become homesick so quickly, when I've only been away for such a short time.
